Anthem Insurance – Richmond, VA
Learn More About the Benefits of Anthem
Most dental insurance policies are designed to encourage patients to seek preventive care. Why? Because it not only reduces your risk of future oral health problems but also lessens the likelihood that you will need to call upon your insurance company to pay for more complex and extensive care. Fortunately, Anthem dental insurance is here for you if a problem does occur along the way. And better yet, as an Anthem dentist in Richmond, we are in-network, which means you are guaranteed to pay the lowest possible price for many of the services you receive. Our dental team is here to ensure you take advantage of all your available benefits, so when you call to schedule an appointment, let us know who your insurance carrier is so we can get to work to saving you the most money.
Anthem Coverage Availability & Fees
Every dental insurance policy is different. From the monthly premiums and deductibles to the annual maximums, there is a good chance that whether you purchased your plan through your employer or individually, it will look quite different from a neighbor or colleague’s policy. However, the benefits you receive as an Anthem policyholder will likely look something like the following:
- 100% preventive services
- 70-80% minor restorative services
- 50-70% major restorative services
These percentages are largely based on whether you’ve met your deductible and how much of your annual maximum is left. Because most dental insurance plans are based on calendar years, you are allotted a designated amount by your insurance company (yearly maximum) that they will agree to pay. If you find that your upcoming treatment will put you over your annual maximum, we may be able to spread out your treatments across calendar years to help lower your out-of-pocket expenses.
You will also find that the above-mentioned benefits are available to individuals who choose to see someone who is in-network or out-of-network. You will find that by choosing someone who has negotiated services and fees with your dental insurance in Richmond, you will save substantially more money than if you were to opt for someone out-of-network. But it certainly is not required that you see someone in-network. In fact, if we are not contracted with your particular insurance carrier, we will still look for ways to help you save as well as file any necessary paperwork and claims on your behalf.
